I have been practising in private practice for almost 30 years. I am a registered member of BACP.
I have experience in telephone, video counselling as well as working face to face in the counselling room.
I speak English and French.
Using my training, my experience and my intuition in equal parts, I continue to learn from my clients.

My original career was in art, design and fashion.
But I found myself searching for a different kind of creative fulfilment. I started training to work with children but through a series of serendipitous encounters, found myself following the path of various counselling trainings.

Training
My initial training was in Person-centred Counselling, but I subsequently gained my Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling from a Sussex BACP accredited course. I have undergone regular training during my years in social services and through Continuing Professional Development.

Career
I started my career in social work, working with children and families before helping with adults’ and older people’s mental health problems in a multi-disciplinary Community Mental Health team with other mental health professionals, gaining invaluable experience in identifying problems other than those safely helped by counselling alone and in working compassionately with the elderly and those suffering from illness and loss.
I have spent many years working in private practice in England and in France.

I am happy to work in English or French by telephone, Skype, FaceTime and other online platforms worldwide with women, men, older men and women, couples and younger people. Occasional face to face sessions may be possible from my rooms situated on the South East Devon coast
I endeavour to respond to your initial or emergency contact within 24 hours and keep some slots free for emergencies each week.

Testimonial example
I have been talking with Angela over the telephone for over 1 year and without her I believe I would still be going in the same emotional circles as before. In my mid forties I began to realise my life was spiralling downwards very rapidly. I was desperately unhappy with my marriage and situation and I felt very alone, but as an English expat living in rural France finding someone to talk with in my own language seemed impossible. I had not imagined that telephone counselling could work so well, and Angela very quickly allowed me to  express years of muddled feelings and confusions.   Over the following sessions the layers of my situations unfolded and Angela responded to my needs as they arrived - supportive when I was so low, but developing into gently encouraging me to question my own behaviour and over time this helped me to find the bravery to make serious decisions and changes to my life that I had previously avoided for so long. I had never spoken with a counsellor before, so I cannot compare Angela to others, but I can recommend her to anyone who is unhappy, feeling alone or just ‘stuck’ and wanting something  to change.
